Now, I’m sure that you insurer’s broker told you that his policy provided coverage within a limited distance in Mexico, and it doesnt matter. The issue is not whether there’s coverage for the accident, but whether you can prove to the Mexican police officers that you’ve got insurance coverage. Remember that they dont read English and dont have any US records, and cant verify any coverage. Additionally, not all insurance carriers provided coverage outside of the US so you cant blame him for being distrustful of your evidence of insurance card.
